3. How Do The Ravens Move Forward?

Moving forward is all that matters for this Baltimore Ravens squad, but how do they do that at this moment? The first thing they can do is throwing the game tape in the trash. There is nothing the Ravens can take from this game that will help them. Maybe they need to look at the fake punt to make sure it doesn’t happen again, but the Jaguars caught the Ravens napping. The Ravens have to get ready for the Steelers. Any time they spent watching the London debacle would be better suited studying how the Chicago Bears stomped the Steelers. Maybe Alex Collins can replicate the success of Tarik Cohen. They need to look at anything they can use to take on the Steelers.

The Big Picture:

The Ravens need to come into every game with a plan. We saw what happened when things hit the fan for this team. The Baltimore Ravens have a blueprint of winning from the first two weeks. Now they added the floor plan for every opponent to build a Ravens’ loss on the field. Defense and the running game, it’s as simple as that. It really is. The Ravens must be aggressive on defense. In the first two weeks they surrendered some yards but they got 10 turnovers and only allowed 10 points. The Ravens defense was unrecognizable on Sunday. It may as well have been Gregg Mattison calling the defense.

When it is all said and done, hopefully this galvanizes the Ravens. Hopefully 44-7 becomes a battle cry for the season, urging them never to be complacent. The good news is that this isn’t indicative of how they are as a team. Good Ravens teams have had horrible losses in the past. Secondly, the Ravens didn’t seem to give their full effort in this game. Maybe they intended to, but when things got rough, they caved. I don’t think the Ravens put their best foot forward so I don’t know how to judge them on this performance. One thing is for sure, I have a hard time imagining that this kind of game will happen again in 2017.
