2. This franchise does not understand offense:

The Baltimore Ravens just don’t get it when it comes to offense. The Brian Billick era featured defense and virtually no offense. The John Harbaugh era has featured little offensive fire power as well. The franchise just doesn’t get it. There is no other explanation. No matter what the Ravens do, or who has come in, the offense has almost always been the problem. Marty Mornhinweg can call a bad game. He is a frustrating coordinator at times. My question is however, would things be different with Greg Roman calling the shots?

The Ravens make things hard when they have the ball. Every Ravens fan reading this knows that I’m right. It starts at the top with Ozzie Newsome. He has a knack for finding offensive linemen, but he can’t draft a receiver to save his life. Newsome passed on JuJu Smith-Schuster in the second round to take Tyus Bowser. Then he took Tim Williams in the third round. So if you’re keeping score at home, he passed up on a wide receiver. He took two players at the same position. Smith-Schuster scored a touchdown against the Ravens.

John Harbaugh has hired Cam Cameron, Marc Trestman, and Marty Mornhinweg. Two of those coaches have been fired and one of them is highly unpopular. Harbaugh has proven that he doesn’t get offense in the NFL just by his hiring of coordinators. He doesn’t get a pass for hiring Kubiak because there is always an exception to the rule. Firing Mornhinweg won’t fix the fact that the Ravens organizationally don’t get it.
