5. Kamalei Correa
It’s hard to imagine a linebacker that has gotten me more boiled up than Kamalei Correa. Correa has missed tackles, been in the completely wrong spot, and basically blocked himself. There was a tipping point for me with Correa. It wasn’t against Cincinnati when he took a bad angle and Joe Mixon ran right past him for a 12 yard gain. That was frustrating but I could live with it. It was against Pittsburgh. There was a play in which he lazily ran to Jesse James, the Steelers tight end who was trying to block him. James barely had to exert any effort to block Correa. He ran right to the blocker, not the ball carrier. The blocker stood him up with ease and the Steelers had a big running lane sealed off for Le’Veon Bell.

That kind of play isn’t rare for Correa. He is a tentative player who seldom makes plays in the backfield. Correa is not the correct replacement for Zach Orr. Orr was a player who just attacked the football. He played fast, he was physical and he didn’t get caught in the trash. The Ravens don’t have that with their 2nd round pick from 2015. They just don’t. The Ravens do have an acceptable player at Correa’s position though.
Patrick Onwuasor has played incredible football. Onwuasor actually attacks on every play. He isn’t cautious, he reads, reacts and flies to the football. I can’t take Correa being in the game. Not only is Correa not playing well, but Onwuasor is playing lights out. This isn’t that complicated. Get Correa off the field.
