C.J. Mosley

I mentioned how if Michael Pierce can generate more push up the middle then C.J. Mosley will have cleaner lanes to attack the ball carrier and make tackles. This doesn’t mean that C.J. doesn’t need to step his game up as well either though. He is one of, if not the best player on this talented Ravens defense, and he must play like it. Mosley will be key in stopping Howard and Cohen from gaining too many yards on the ground. Like I said earlier, the Bears are going to want to run the ball heavily.

One reason Chicago will look to run the ball so heavily will be the fact that this is only the second game for their rookie QB, and a difficult road game at that. They will want to put him in good situations to succeed, and a successful running game will help with that. On the flip side, the Ravens will want to force the rookie Trubisky into difficult situations and make him uncomfortable. This can lead to panicked throws and turnovers like we saw in week 2 against rookie Deshone Kizer. C.J. Mosley will be an integral part in throwing Trubisky off his game.

C.J. has made quarterbacks pay with badly thrown balls before. He can snatch the football high from the air if he has to. We’ve all seen him do it before. Hopefully, Trubisky will underestimate this portion of Mosley’s game. C.J. must play up to his star franchise linebacker status. He doesn’t have to be Ray Lewis, he just has to be the C.J. Mosley we all know him to be, and that’s one of the leagues best middle linebackers.
