4. Michael Campanaro

Wide receiver may be the biggest question mark for the Ravens this offseason and they’re going to have some big decisions to make. Two receivers will be free agents, including Michael Campanaro. Campanaro signed a one-year deal before the start of the season and will likely be a player the Ravens move on from.

Campanaro has battled a plethora of injuries during his young, four-year career and the Ravens have stuck with him. He came on strong at the end of the season but the overall problem has been inconsistencies. Campanaro has appeared in just 21 games during four years and while the potential is there, the Ravens are the last team that should be betting on that heading into the 2018 season. This was a unit that totaled just 1,734 receiving yards the entire season, 173 coming from Campanaro himself. To put those struggles into perspective, Antonio Brown finished the 2017 regular season with 1,533 yards on his own. That not only shows how dominant Brown is but the need for the Ravens at the position.

I think this a move that makes sense for both parties. The Ravens need to improve at the position and Camapanro could explore options and sign with a team that might be able to utilize his talents better. The special teams factor also plays a part but Chris Moore has proven he can take over that role. It’s not like Campanaro was Devin Hester returning touchdowns on every play. His production is replaceable.

I’d be shocked to see Campanaro on the roster next season and it looks like a move that’s inevitable for both sides.
