Richard Bradshaw picks for the Dolphins:

NCST. Bradley Chubb. 11. player. 59. Remember back in the 2013 draft when the Dolphins traded up from the 12th overall pick to the third overall pick in order to select edge rusher Dion Jordan out of Oregon? As if that pick didn’t burn enough, the Dolphins passed on All-Pro tackle Lane Johnson and wound up with perhaps the biggest bust from the 2013 draft. Flash forward to 2018, the Dolphins have a future Hall of Famer in Cameron Wake and a young man in Charles Harris with tons of untapped potential. After them, the Dolphins possess nothing to write home about.
With Wake sitting at 36-years old, it’s time to get a bookend edge rusher to match with Harris. Insert Bradley Chubb. Now, you may be wondering why I brought up the Dion Jordan trade, and that’s because the Dolphins will have to do something similar if they want to land Chubb. Simply put, Chubb will not be available at 11, let alone outside the top ten or even top five. But in a scenario where Chubb slips due to other team needs, he falls into a dream scenario, not only for him but also for Miami. With Bradley Chubb on the roster, tons of pieces fall together. For starters, Miami has those bookend edge rushers we just mentioned.

Additionally, Wake can now move into a role similar to the Carolina Panthers Julius Peppers possess perhaps had in 2017 as a situation edge rusher. Peppers had 11 sacks in that role, a number very attainable for Wake as long as he’s healthy. Back to Chubb, he becomes part of a dominant defensive line group that features the previously mentioned players plus Ndamukong Suh. 10+ sacks as a rookie seems very possible for perhaps the draft’s top defensive prospect.
.
