Chris Schisler picks for the Arizona Cardinals

32. Kolton Miller is arguably the best offensive tackle in this draft class. He has the size, strength and physical abilities checked off without a worry. He plays with good technique and he stays balanced. Miller is an exceptional run blocker. He is the kind of left tackle that you have your running back follow to the edge. Miller is good in pass protection and he doesn’t lose track of his responsibility. The thing I like about Miller is that he passes all the tests. He has the experience. He has the physical tools and he passes the eye test. It’s hard not to love what Miller brings to the table.
If Baker Mayfield or Josh Allen had dropped, the Cardinals would have been tempted to take a quarterback. I thought long and hard about Lamar Jackson here, who I think is worth it. Wide receiver was an option as well. In the end I went with Kolton Miller because he is a top 10 talent that has slipped to the 15th pick. This has best player available all over it and it fills a major need for the Cardinals.

Miller is a building block of the future. Whether the Cardinals like it or not, this is a team that could be in a rebuilding mode. Miller is a true left tackle of the future so this is a good place to start. Whether it’s Kirk Cousins or more of a placeholder, I’m convinced the Cardinals will sign a quarterback in free agency. That’s the biggest reason I went with left tackle. Sign a decent quarterback and compete with a better offensive line and a healthy David Johnson, that’s the plan for Arizona.
. OT. UCLA. Kolton Miller. 15. player
