Round 2: D.J. Moore WR, Maryland

After missing out on a wide receiver in the first round, the Ravens turn around and address the need. This time they stay local and select a homegrown talent. After missing out on Stefon Diggs three years ago, the Ravens select Maryland wide receiver D.J. Moore with the 52nd pick.

Moore capped off an impressive junior season as the Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year. He finished with 1,033 receiving yards, eight touchdowns and was easily Maryland’s most dynamic offensive weapon in 2017. With the array of backup quarterbacks throwing him the ball, Moore still set the school single-season record with 80 receptions.

It’s no secret the Ravens need help at wide receiver. As it stands, Breshad Perriman and Chris Moore and are the only two receivers still under contract from last season. Moore draws comparisons to Diggs for their similar style in play and he’d be a solid fit in Marty Mornhinweg’s offense. His speed allows him to make plays in the open field off short and intermediate routes.

Ravens fans were desperate to acquire Jarvis Landry, but Moore could develop into that kind of threat in the slot. He also doubles as a returner and can bring an explosive aspect to that part of the game. The Ravens have lacked a real threat there since Jacoby Jones.

This pick would bode well for the Ravens and Moore looks like a great fit in Baltimore.
