Baltimore Ravens: The Good, Bad & the ugly from 1st 2 signings

The Ravens signed two receivers and they still need receiving options for their passing game. The Ravens could not have solved their receiving problems with one signing, but they still don’t have a number one receiver. I’d be happy to stay at positive station all day long, however the Ravens are banking on players that have never really done much in the NFL. It’s kind of bold, but that’s the problem. Kind of bold is a nice way of saying the Ravens are gambling with these two moves.

Will it work?

There is a part of me that really loves the “prove it deal” for Brown. Then there is a part of me that says, if the Ravens are right about this guy, he’ll cost a lot more next offseason. Is it nice that the Ravens avoided a mega contract? Yes, some of the money spent around the league was crazy. It was as if the entire NFL looked at all the wide receivers and screamed “Shut up and take my money!”

However, we are left to spin this first pair of moves in a positive light and this working out isn’t a given. It would have been nice to get a household name at the wide receiver position. It would have been a lot of fun. The Ravens didn’t do what the Ravens Flock wanted, but it could work out. The bad thing here is that it leaves us waiting to find out if the Ravens were being smart or making another blunder for the offense.
