Jonathan Dugan: Lamar Jackson QB, Louisville

Ozzie Newsome alluded to the fact that we would all be surprised by who the team picks in the first round. What is more surprising than a first-round quarterback? The crowds at M&T Bank Stadium have been dwindling the past few years and Jackson would provide an elite game-breaking athlete at the most important position in the game. Jackson brings amazing speed and a big arm but needs time to learn the intricacies of the position. He would bring a total flip of the script when it comes to the position, Jackson is a prolific runner and could really kill it in Marty Mornhenwhigs RPO based offense that relies on quick hits and a mobile quarterback. Once he is ready it would allow the Ravens to cut or trade out of Flacco’s albatross of a contract and give the team some much-needed cap flexibility and allow them to address other needs.

Sitting behind Joe Flacco for two years would provide more than enough experience to lead this team for the next decade. At the end of the day, this pick will put butts in seats and secure the most crucial position for years.
