Translating success in college to NFL Production:

Andrews became a productive player with the Sooners but it didn’t happen instantly. Many things went into building him into the third round pick of the purple and black. In Andrews first season at Oklahoma he established himself as a red zone threat with seven touchdown receptions; however he only had 19 grabs on the year. Andrews had another seven touchdown grabs in 2016 and picked his production up to 31 receptions for 489 yards. It was the 2017 season where his production shot up dramatically.

More from Ebony Bird

In 2017, Andrews caught 62 passes for 972 yards and eight touchdowns. There were two constants in Andrews career at Oklahoma. The first was that Andrews was a touchdown scorer. Secondly, Andrews showed growth in each season. Andrews built chemistry with Baker Mayfield, got better at his craft and took advantage of a larger role in his junior season. Andrews proved that he was an NFL talent in the 2017 season. By producing more each season with the Sooners, Andrews also showed that he was someone who could be coached.

Look for Andrews to be a hard worker for the Ravens. He’s going to work to become Joe Flacco’s favorite target and hopefully Lamar Jackson’s as well. If the Ravens use him right, he should be successful. The Ravens were wise to pair Hurst and Andrews. Hurst is a decent blocker who is versatile and a more traditional tight end. Andrews is more of a receiver than a tight end. Together they will give the Ravens the necessary production from their position group. It would be an added bonus for the Ravens if they could develop into a dangerous tandem.
