3. Jackson impressing is nice to see:

Jackson looked the part by all accounts. The part that Jackson is playing is the most pivotal player down the road for Baltimore. If Jackson played poorly, it would not have been the end of the world. Remember Joe Flacco’s first preseason play looked awful but things worked out. While you don’t want to go too far, Jackson playing well early is rewarding.

The number one thing that stands out with Jackson is that everything is so smooth. He’s a natural athlete and he can do amazing things that just come naturally to him. Jackson is absorbing the knowledge that the coaches are feeding him. He was able to run the show and have a good practice. It did not grind to a grueling stop. It did not have to be forced upon the team. Just by going on Twitter you can see a genuine enthusiasm the team has about their young quarterback.

The future looks very bright. The important thing to remember is that it is the future and not the current moment. The Ravens have a quarterback project that honestly is ahead of schedule. Jackson is showing all the right things. He was a one man show at Louisville. If the Ravens put the development hours in with him, and they give him tools to work with in the offense, this could be a very fun future. It’s hard not to be excited about what Jackson is doing. As long as we don’t get carried away, let’s enjoy the fresh energy it brings to the team.
