4. Tim White

Tim White knew going into this first preseason game, that he was going to have to make the team because of his kick returning ability. This game allowed White to show off as a receiver, which helped him a great deal. White caught two passes for 20 yards. He did well as a return man as well.

Last year White made all kinds of noise by making flashy plays. His ability is obvious and he is exciting to watch. White made smart decisions as a punt returner and averaged 12.5 yards on two returns. White came into the game as leading return man, contributing on offense was gravy for him.

3. Orlando Brown Jr.

The offensive line didn’t look good on Thursday night, except for Orlando Brown Jr. Brown Jr. looked the part. He was a bully up front for the Ravens offensive line. The fact that the line played so poorly as a whole, made Brown Jr. stand out even more. He had a couple of very impressive blocks in the contest.

Brown Jr. moved well, not sluggish like his combine numbers would have suggested. He didn’t make it look as easy as he did when he was with the Oklahoma Sooners, but there was no questioning that he was the biggest, baddest guy on the field. This was a promising start for the rookie offensive tackle.

From the looks of it, the Ravens need all the help they can get on the offensive line. Baltimore needs Brown Jr. to be a stud right away. Matt Skura, who is competing for the starting center job didn’t look great. Ronnie Stanley and Marshal Yanda didn’t play in the exhibition game. Brown Jr. was the best offensive lineman on the field for the Ravens.
