Running Back: Gus Edwards
At the running back position, Edwards is the only running back with something to gain. The preseason isn’t for Alex Collins to show us something. He has the number one job locked up like it’s in a Swiss bank account. Javorius Allen is making the team, he showed too much good stuff in 2017 for the Ravens to let go of him. Kenneth Dixon has something to lose. Dixon is still the favorite to get the third running back spot and a decent performance should keep it that way.
Edwards has everything to gain, because as impressive as he has been, he is on the roster bubble. Edwards leads the Ravens in rushing in the games that don’t count and he broke out a beautiful 25 yard run. Edwards has a big 6’1″ 225 lbs. build. He is a quick runner with a decent array of moves and he’s a running back that is comfortable in between the tackles. Edwards has impressed but he came into camp as a long shot. The roster math isn’t in his favor so he has to go above and beyond expectations.

Wide Receiver: Breshad Perriman, Jordan Lasley, Tim White, Jaleel Scott, Janarion Grant
The Ravens top four receivers are set in stone. Michael Crabtree, John Brown, Willie Snead and Chris Moore are players that are just waiting for the regular season to come around so they can make plays against the Buffalo Bills. Every receiver after that has something to gain. The Ravens have five players fighting for two (maybe three) roster spots. The front runners for these two spots are probably Jordan Lasley and Tim White. Lasley has so much potential that he merits a roster spot. Tim White has speed and quickness, not to mention kick returning ability.
Lasley and White are still in desperation mode though, because there isn’t a lot of separation at the wide receiver position. Breshad Perriman wears the label of draft bust and he may not be able to shake that off. Perriman has to make play after play this preseason, just to have a shot. He is the receiver who came into the position battle with the most baggage. Grant and Scott are on the outside looking in. Grant is essentially the same kind of player as White and Scott has the frame, but we need to see the results.
