4. Darren Waller

Darren Waller is one of the most frustrating players the Ravens ever had. Just when he was figuring things out, he gets himself suspended for an entire season. Then he gets a late start to training camp and never really had a shot. The Ravens kept Maxx Williams, who has been anything but impressive.

The biggest reason Waller didn’t get that last tight end spot, is that the Ravens didn’t know what they would get from him. The Ravens know what Williams is, and they’re done trying to get a second round value from him. Waller is a year removed from football and that may have taken away all the progress he made since moving to tight end.

Waller has never been that productive of a player, but he’s always been a flashy talent. He has a huge frame and he has borderline wide receiver speed. Just based on raw ability, Waller should be a great NFL tight end. The Ravens are done waiting for that to happen. The Ravens drafted two impressive rookies in Hayden Hurst and Mark Andrews. Nick Boyle is a good blocking tight end, who the Ravens have always been high on. Waller, made things interesting but didn’t come close to making the roster.
