With so much hype headed into Thursday night for the Ravens and the fans expecting a beat-down, a loss was the worst of our concerns following the game.

All week long so many Ravens fans, including yours truly, were uncontrollably excited for Thursday night. A rematch against the hated AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals was already enough reason for us to want a smack-down, but add in the fact that this is the same squad that ultimately eliminated Baltimore from the playoffs in 2017 and this game became that much more important.

And you would’ve certainly believed that the same level of enthusiasm and determination to win should’ve been displayed by Baltimore entirely. That didn’t seem to be the case, however. Instead, we were “treated” to a C-level effort from the entire crew that left us full of anger and disgust towards the team.

Throughout the night, it was inherently obvious that Baltimore simply didn’t look prepared to take the field. Between a completely weak effort all the way around from the defense and the offense’s inability to sustain drives early in the game, coupled with extremely avoidable turnovers, quickly put Baltimore into a hole they couldn’t dig themselves out of.

No, the Ravens don’t get kudos for making a late push to make the score seem closer than the game was. Anyone who was able to sit down and watch all 60-minutes of this “game” would be able to tell you that Baltimore was almost immediately outmatched by Cincinnati. From the moment the first turnover occurred to then see A.J. Green, the Raven Killer, go off this game felt lost before it even got a chance to truly begin.

Sometimes, losses are necessary to leave a sour taste in the mouth of everyone so that they have more dedication for the next game ahead. Baltimore also has 10-days to prepare for their next game against the Denver Broncos, and there had better not be any remnants of the performance displayed against Cincinnati. What we saw Thursday night is absolutely inexcusable and should not be tolerated whatsoever. Get it out of your system and get back to playing like a Raven.
