3. Anthony Levine Sr.

I talked about this a little bit in a previous post, but Anthony Levine Sr. could be the key to stopping Alvin Kamara. Levine Sr. has been the X-factor for the Ravens defense. Levine Sr. is like a wild card, he can do anything he is asked to do. When Don Martindale brought him into the action against the Steelers, Levine picked off a pass that sealed the deal. Spying on Kamara would be the best use of Levine in this game.

One of the reasons Kamara is so dangerous is that no linebacker in the NFL can keep up with him. While linebackers are typically asked to cover running backs, Kamara is not a typical running back. Kamara is one of the most incredible athletes on the field. The Ravens need a good plan.

Levine Sr. seems to be used most when the Ravens need to take out a certain element of an offense. Against the Steelers, he was used as an enforcer against the short pass in the middle of the field. Levine Sr. is a speedy defensive back, and if he takes good angles, he can stay in front of Kamara. If Kamara has a huge day, the Ravens are going to be in a bad spot. The number one key when playing the Saints is to keep Kamara from beating you. It’s a hard thing to do, and it can’t be done via traditional methods. Martindale has to be inventive and Levine Sr. is his best tool for that.
