Dante Fowler:

Another pass rusher, but this time in the form of a young-man who will be a free agent following 2018. Jacksonville Jaguars’ Dante Fowler, the former no. three overall pick in 2015, has failed to live up to his draft expectations. After missing his entire rookie season with a torn ACL, Fowler has managed to nab just 14.0 sacks since 2016. Fowler has also struggled to find his way higher in the depth chart thanks to guys like Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue. All of this makes a perfect storm for Baltimore to snag him before the trade deadline.

Dante Fowler is the prime example of a player who could be lightning in a bottle for the right team. In 2017, Fowler didn’t start a single game and yet still managed eight sacks for the “Sacksonville Jaguars” defense. A rotation player at his finest, Fowler is the kind of boon that the Ravens defense would just love to add.

This kid has everything that you want. he’s still very young (24-years old) and has the build (6’3″ 255-lbs.) and athleticism that front offices fall in love with. He was the third overall pick in 2015 for a reason, and Fowler has certainly shown plenty of flashes at times.

The best part about this trade is knowing that Baltimore would be hard-pressed to resign him following the season, especially if they decide to pursue re-upping with Za’Darius Smith and (obviously) C.J. Mosley. You can’t pay everyone. Therefore, Fowler likely wouldn’t cost too much compensation and if he signs big in Free Agency then Baltimore gets back a compensatory pick for 2020. Win-win here for the Ravens. Of all the moves we’re going through in this article, this would be my ideal scenario for the trade deadline.
