3. Do the Ravens really need another running back?

It’s hard not to understand why the Ravens are in this position. Alex Collins hasn’t delivered after a promising 2016 campaign. Buck Allen is a decent player, but he’s not going to be a workhorse in the running game. Kenneth Dixon went down with an injury and if Collins doesn’t get on track, Gus Thompson is the Ravens’ best bet. It’s a situation that could only be described as infuriating. Who would have ever thought that Joe Flacco and his receiving talent would get things together and the running game would be a total flop? If you called it, play the lottery, go to Las Vegas and Atlantic City for good measure. It was one thing to think Collins would take a step back, however it was an entirely different thought for the Ravens to have next to nothing going on the ground.

Another running back probably isn’t the answer. If I was the Ravens I would sign Wadley, and give him a shot. It’s just unlikely that anybody (even a running back I was very high on) could come into the fold after week eight and be the lightning rod for the rushing attack. Baltimore is more or less stuck with this problem. They have to figure it out. The number one thing they can do is to get right along the offensive line. They need to block better and they need to run schemes that work. The run game made sense last year, and this year it’s a twisted maze of why would you do that nonsense. Greg Roman is still here, right?

The Ravens have running back troubles. There is no doubt about this. At this point in the season their options are limited and not overly appealing. Maybe Kenneth Dixon can return at some point this season. Still, it looks like the Ravens may have to work with what they have.
