Tre Boston (Defensive Back):

Background: 27-years old (06/25/92) 6’1”, 205 lbs.

2017/2018 Stats: 21 Games Started, 8 INT, 15 PDEF, 119 TKL, 1 TFL, 1 QBH, 1 FF, 1 FR

Tre Boston is a ball-hawking safety that is on pace to have more interceptions and pass break-ups than any Ravens on the roster. Tre Boston isn’t anything special athletically, basically a slightly slower Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, but he has the route awareness and ball instincts to make up for it. He’s the safety that the Ravens have needed for the last two years and it shows more this season than in the past.

Boston and Jefferson would be a classic, fun to watch, safety combo. Jefferson is the run defender, hitter type, while Boston is a ball hawk, lurker type. There could be a bit of fright added back to our defense with Jefferson smacking running backs at the line of scrimmage and Boston picking off 6 or 7 passes a year.

Boston is a little harder to predict a contract for because the safety market never materialized last year, but he could probably get a five year, 25 million dollar contract from the Ravens and he would be happy. To go along with this signing, the Ravens should trade or release Weddle after this season. According to Spotrac, the Ravens would free up 6.5 million, while only taking 1.75 million in dead cap. This would cover Boston and the dead cap most likely.
