Don’t tell me that Jackson isn’t ready any more. Don’t tell me that the Ravens can do more damage to Jackson than good by seeing him be the starting quarterback so soon. Jackson looked plenty ready on Sunday. Jackson orchestrated the offense he was given. He showed that he could throw, but the Ravens didn’t want to lean on the arm of a rookie passer. The passing numbers will grow as he continues to see NFL action. The moral of the story is that Jackson just won a game as the starting quarterback.
Jackson is such a smooth athlete and he’s so gifted it’s insane. Jackson seemed to lead the Ravens in having fun against the Bengals and it was incredibly entertaining. It was good to see Jackson operate the offense with almost no hiccups. He didn’t seem nervous. He didn’t seem like he was trying too hard. In fact Jackson showed that he was a leader. All eyes were on him and he didn’t blink.
The Ravens fell behind 21-13 in the third quarter. Jackson led a 10 play drive that ended with a touchdown and the game tying two-point conversion. The team not only rallied behind Jackson, but they got energy from him. Jackson sparked the most inspired effort the team has had since they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Heinz Field. Whether you like how he did it or not, Jackson did it. He won the game and he brought it.
