Going into week 13 of the 2018 season, the Baltimore Ravens face a crucial game against the Atlanta Falcons. They keys to victory lie in these three tasks.

1. Slow down Julio Jones as much as possible:

I touched a bit on this match-up just a few days ago here. Slowing down, not stopping, Julio Jones will take a huge team effort to accomplish. It’s going to be impossible to lock Jones out of the game entirely, so limiting the damage he can inflict is crucial.

More from Ebony Bird

Marlon Humphrey has continued to take steps forward as a true no.1 cornerback for the Ravens, while Jimmy Smith has, unfortunately, started back-tracking in his skills. Well, this week the two will need to do everything possible to take on Julio Jones. If they can’t find a way to do this, Jones will tear apart Baltimore for 60-minutes and the team will have absolutely no shot at a victory.

While it will primarily come down to these two on Jones, it will also take the entirety of the secondary to lock-down this man. The safeties need to step up, as well as the rest of the cornerbacks listed on the team’s depth chart, to help slow down Jones .

By the end of the day, what Jones is able to accomplish will entirely paint a picture of how prepared the Ravens defense was headed into this week. Jones may not be a touchdown machine compared to guys like Antonio Brown or DeAndre Hopkins, but he makes his presence felt in just about every other way. Julio Jones is one of the few individual players in the entire NFL who can cause an opponent to lose the game, and Baltimore cannot afford to let Jones make them an example of this.
