The Mile High Miracle:

If you were pick one single play to define Joe Flacco’s entire career with the Baltimore Ravens, it would have to be this one. “The Mile High Miracle” is one of the greatest plays in NFL history as a whole, and has earned itself a large stake in the league’s lore. This play was defining for so many players, none more so than Joe Flacco.

For the entirety of his career, Flacco faced the adversity of whether or not he was the guy to take a team over the top. Critics said he simply wasn’t good enough, nor could he be the one to single-handedly win his team games. With one single play, however, he shut up his doubters. In fact, he silenced an entire stadium of rowdy and energized Denver Broncos fans.

A famous rapper Marshall Mathers, better known as Eminem, once said, “If you had one shot, or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment… would you capture it, or just let it slip?” (Lose Yourself, Eminem). Well, Mr. Shady, to say Joe Flacco seized his moment would be an understatement. One 70-yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones later and Flacco forever enshrined himself as an all-time great playoff quarterback.

Don’t let the haters tell you otherwise. If anyone even starts to argue with you about this cold-hard fact, this one play will prove them wrong. Ignorance is bliss to the people who want to believe that Joe Flacco is just an average quarterback. How about this: If you believe that New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is a Hall of Famer because of his post-season success, you better believe that makes Joe Flacco a sure-thing for the HOF.
