2019 NFL Draft: 5 players that make sense for Baltimore Ravens
5. A.J. Brown, Wide Receiver (Ole Miss)
A.J. Brown would be a great option for the Ravens and he may be the most under appreciated receiver of the 2019 NFL Draft class. Can you tell the Ravens need a receiver? This list of draft prospects for the Ravens should really beat that point home. Brown isn’t the flashiest receiving option, but he is solid and dependable on all fronts. On a team that will probably see three receivers drafted to the NFL, Brown was the most productive and consistent target.
Brown put up huge numbers with the Rebels. He caught 75 passes in 2017 for 1,252 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2018, he had 85 receptions for 1,320 yards and six touchdowns. These are the numbers of a number one wide receiver. Brown may be the most well rounded receiver in the draft class. If the Ravens draft him with the 22nd overall pick, Baltimore will be getting a player that is used to being leaned upon. Brown is a reception machine. He knows how to get open and he is one of the safer options in the draft class.
Brown is a sharp route runner who is pro ready. He is going to be a productive receiver in the NFL, it may as well be with the Ravens. Brown would fit right in because he’s a physical wide receiver who plays tough. He’s also very good at improvising for a scrambling quarterback, a skill that Jackson surely wouldn’t mind adding to the offense.
