2. There are no easy portions of the schedule:

The easiest stretch of the season comes week 13-15. The Ravens start that span with a home game against the San Francisco 49ers, travel to Buffalo to play the Bills and then go back to Baltimore to face the Jets. The 49ers could be better this season with Jimmy Garappolo coming back. The Bills have a young quarterback they are building around, and more hope than usual. The Jets gave Sam Darnold some help in free agency. It’s easy to imagine that all three of these games will end up being tough.

The Ravens start the season in Miami which is a winnable game. Then they come home to play the Arizona Cardinals. It’s not so bad right? Well, then it’s a game in Kansas City against the Chiefs. Playing in Arrowhead Stadium against the reigning MVP, Pat Mahomes, is followed by games against the Browns and Steelers. The Bengals are a mystery heading into 2019. Then the Ravens go to Seattle to play the Seahawks. That’s always tough. The Ravens get a merciful bye week and then they host the Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots.

A couple weeks later the Ravens play another 2018 playoff team, the Houston Texans. Lamar Jackson vs. Deshaun Watson is going to be something to see, but it will be a tough home game for the purple and black. Then the Ravens will be in Los Angeles to battle the Rams. The Rams just went to the Super Bowl and have been one of the hottest teams for the past two years. 3. A strong start is absolutely necessary: The Ravens have an uneasy road ahead of them.
