Cleveland Browns

Draft Picks:

  1. LSU CB Andraez “Greedy” Williams (No. 46 overall)
  2. BYU LB Sione Takitaki (No. 80)
  3. Miami S Sheldrick Redwine (No. 119)
  4. Alabama LB Mack Wilson (No. 155)
  5. Oklahoma K Austin Seibert (No. 170)
  6. Southeast Missouri OG Drew Forbes (No. 189)
  7. Tulane CB Donnie Lewis (No. 221)

My Take: The Browns had a very quiet first round of the Draft because they sent their first pick (No. 17 overall) to the New York Giants as part of the package deal for Odell Beckham Jr. With their first pick being in the second round, the Browns took arguably the best corner in the draft in Greedy Williams which would make for them having the best cornerback in the class two years in a row. The only concern with Greedy is his physicality as he would pick and choose his battles, if that was just a safety precaution his last year at LSU then he will be a fine player for the DogPound. Takitaki is a solid pickup for their linebacker corps as a has a chance to contribute right away.

Redwine will go a long way in helping replace Jabrill Peppers who was a part of the package deal sent to New York for OBJ. Redwine is also a very versatile player who can line up all over the defense, similar to how Jabrill Peppers would and I’m sure that isn’t a coincidence. The Browns also took two of my favorite day three players in Wilson and Seibert. Wilson is a quick sideline-to-sideline linebacker who can assist in the flats for quick out routes and Seibert is the best kicker in the Draft, who doesn’t love kickers. They ended their draft with Forbes at 189 overall who will be a nice backup at either guard or center and Lewis who is a solid cornerback that could have been drafted higher than 221 overall.
