The biggest name for rookie wide receivers is Marquise Brown, but what will his Fantasy Football value be in 2019 for the Baltimore Ravens?

Marquise Brown is the talk of the town in Baltimore, Maryland. The man dubbed “Hollywood” during his time with the Oklahoma Sooners is looking to be the NFL’s next big sensation, and it’s hard to disagree with that.

The only thing holding back Brown will be his foot injury and whether or not it’ll affect him long-term. For now, there’s no definitive evidence that he won’t be what he was. This makes him not only an exciting player to watch this season, but also one to have on your Fantasy Football roster.

What makes Marquise Brown so intriguing is his speed and play-making ability. In two seasons as a starter for the Sooners Brown racked up nearly 2,500 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns. While Brown’s production came exclusively via the receiving game, there’s a ton of optimism that he could make plays not just in the passing game, but also as a runner and potentially a return man.

With so many ways to get “Hollywood” Brown the ball in what could be one of the league’s fastest, most explosive offenses, it’s easy to be enamored with Marquise Brown’s potential. Still, we have to be careful because of that nagging lisfranc injury. If not for that, Brown would be perhaps the best rookie wide receiver for Fantasy Football.

But, if he’s healthy Brown is still capable of claiming that title. Brown could also tear up the league and give Fantasy Football owners all sorts of exciting ways to see him put up big-time points.

Considering Brown’s reliance on his speed, it’s unlikely that we’ll see him catch a ton of balls as a rookie. This may decrease his PPR value, but standard leagues will still be more than happy with his chunk plays. There’s something about a player being able to take the ball the distance on any touch he has that puts the fear into the hearts of Fantasy Football owners everywhere playing against him…

So, what’s the proper way to proceed with Marquise Brown’s Fantasy Football value? With lots of caution and optimism. Getting Brown with a late-round flier could prove to be a season-defining move.

Brown has the same kind of firepower that Tyreek Hill has with the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as what DeSean Jackson was doing to NFL defenses in his prime. As long as you understand that there’s likely to be peaks and valleys throughout Brown’s rookie season, playing the right match-ups could give you lightning in a bottle and someone to stash away.

Final projections: 45 receptions, 700 receiving yards, five touchdowns, 50 rushing yards
