Throwback Thursday is a fun little hashtag seen on social media, but former Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed made it his own with some nostalgic memories.

If you’re a millennial then you know exactly what #ThrowbackThursday means. If you aren’t or simply don’t know about the popular hashtag, it’s essentially just taking an old picture or video of yourself and sharing it with your social media accounts. The term was once incredibly popular with teenage girls, but now everyone has fun with it, including Hall of Fame Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed:

The chills this play provides… The context is right there in the video. The Cleveland Browns were knocking at the door with Baltimore needing a turnover… Who else could provide that and then more other than Ed Reed? By the way, that 106-yard pick-six was an NFL record.

This play was far from a rare occurrence for the greatest ball-hawk the NFL has ever seen. Who could forget when Reed broke his own NFL record for longest interception returned for a touchdown with 107-yard return against the Philadelphia Eagles?

No, Ed Reed was always making plays in the secondary. He didn’t do it exclusively as a ball-hawk, either, as Reed was wrecking havoc in the middle of the field and rocking defenders with hard hits.

It’s funny, when talking to people about the hardest hitters in NFL history you’ll very seldomly have someone mention Reed. Guys like Knowshon Moreno would be to differ, as would plenty of other players throughout NFL history who felt Reed’s wrath.

P.S. for those of you who remember Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward leveling Ed Reed, be at peace knowing the two have sat down and reminisced together over the famed rivalry between the two teams.
