4. Jaylon Ferguson

The top concern about Jaylon Ferguson is that he is an under developed pass rusher who leans on his sheer athletic force to get to the quarterback. What does a raw pass rusher need? He needs time on the field in a game setting. The Ravens need to get Ferguson all the work he can handle. Ferguson needs to work his way into being a key player for the defense.

Must Read. The one thing going for each unproven Ravens pass rusher. light

Ferguson has a chance to show why he was the all time NCAA sack leader. Ferguson was just built to play football. It’s easy to look at the Louisiana Tech product and point to what he needs to work on. It’s also easy to identify that he is a natural talent that could get off to a hot start. The Ravens pass rushers are all trying to prove themselves. Baltimore needs one of their outside linebackers to leave the preseason with momentum. In a perfect world, where everything is peaches, rainbows and blue skies, Ferguson is that outside linebacker.

The Ravens want to get Ferguson the on the job training he needs. It wouldn’t be fun to be the second or third string offensive tackle who has to deal with Ferguson. That smells like a mismatch from an athleticism standpoint. That could lead to some flashy plays from Ferguson.
