Jaleel Scott stands taller than the rest:

The only Baltimore Ravens that appeared to be a lock for the 53-man roster were Marquise Brown, Willie Snead, and Miles Boykin. Seth Roberts and Chris Moore both had really good chances to make it, but they were far from guaranteed anything…

Beyond those five, the rest of the group was a crapshoot. It was to the point where before the preseason started there was talk that the Ravens would be best only keeping the aforementioned five receivers, rather than wasting a spot on one of the other receivers.

Among these bubble-players were Jaleel Scott, Jordan Lasley, Michael Floyd, Antoine Wesley, Joe Horn Jr., and Jaylen Smith. Lasley found himself out of Charm City very quickly, while the rest had a lot to prove. All eyes were firmly locked on second-year man Jaleel Scott, who missed his rookie season due to injuries. If he had a big showing in the preseason, he was definitely the favorite to make the roster.

Well, “a big showing in the preseason” would be putting it lightly. Scott recorded 11 receptions for 146-yards and two touchdowns while showing off the athleticism that made him an enticing pick back in 2018. Scott’s performance has us excited and hoping it can translate to the regular season, even as the team’s sixth receiver.
