The division clinching reception:

Like we just discussed, Torrey Smith had high standards to live up to as a rookie both by the front office and the fans. He may have been inconsistent, but his rookie season was a great one for the Baltimore Ravens. He had plenty of great games, but perhaps his best came against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

More from Ebony Bird

On Sunday Night Football, Baltimore traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to take on their biggest rivals in the Steelers. The two teams were very evenly matched in 2011 and this game would seemingly (and it did) decide who won the AFC North division. There was a lot at stake in this game and there could be no mistakes.

To end the game, Joe Flacco went on an incredible game-winning drive that would see Torrey Smith reel in the game-sealing catch for Baltimore. But, before that happened Smith missed what should’ve been the winning touchdown reception. Instead of avoiding the rookie, Flacco instead gave him another chance to redeem himself and he did just that.

Smith pulled in a 26-yard touchdown catch that STUNNED Pittsburgh Steelers fans and the entire football world. It was a catch that brought me to tears I was so happy as a fan. It was a moment that every Ravens fan will always remember.
