Before the Baltimore Ravens get ready to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, we sat down with “Steeler Maven” to ask them some questions about the game.

More from Ebony Bird

A shout out to “Steeler Maven” writer Donnie Druin for his input on the following interview. Mr. Druin is a lifelong fan and follower of the Pittsburgh Steelers and gave some great insight into the rivalry and importance of the game vs. the Baltimore Ravens this upcoming Sunday.

In this interview, we got down to business to discuss whether or not this should be a prime-time game, talk about Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, and of course what match-ups he’s most looking forward to against the Ravens.

(Check out my interview with Steeler Maven here discussing the Baltimore Ravens side of this game, including match-ups and how the Ravens can ultimately win the game.)

Without further ado, let’s dive into our interview with Mr. Druin and see what he has to say about the Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers:

The best rivalry in the NFL?

1. The Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers rivalry game has long been one of the NFL’s best, yet it is not featured on any prime-time games for the NFL’s 100th anniversary season. Even with key injuries to both teams, do you find this disrespectful?

"“In the league’s defense, the week seventeen game has a solid chance to be flexed if both teams are vying for the division. Also, neither team has a winning record to this point and both teams have key injuries, so perhaps networks dodged a bullet early on with this game being a 1:00 PM game. I will say though, for what the NFL has been doing for it’s 100th anniversary season, you would have thought a Ravens/Steelers game would have been on primetime television instead of *checks notes* Colts/Chiefs or Browns/49ers. Granted the history between the two teams begins near the start of the new millennium, yet the moments established in those games will still go down in NFL history when it’s all said and done. Disrespectful? Maybe. But it’s up to both teams to prove the league wrong. “"

Call me biased, but the Baltimore Ravens rivalry with the Pittsburgh Steelers is as good as it gets. Even before the season this game should have been prime-time, considering the NFL is sponsoring its 100th season and showing off its best rivalries. I don’t care that both teams look lackluster, this should’ve at a minimum been Thursday Night Football!
