2. Marcus Peters improves the secondary:

The Ravens defense has to show up in this game. The Seahawks have one of the best offensive attacks in the league and they’re ready to get a win at home. Marcus Peters is expected to make his first start with the Baltimore Ravens and he has to make a difference. This is a tough spot for Peters as there is no chance that this was anything close to a routine week for him. Peters has to come in right away and bring balance to the secondary.

You know Marlon Humphrey is going to take out one of the Seahawks receivers. If Peters can lock down on another target for Wilson, the defense has a chance to be a little more aggressive. Bend but don’t break seems like a good way to tire out the defense in a tough place to play. The Ravens are taking on a player in Russell Wilson who could be building a Hall of Fame resume. The Ravens are going to give up some big plays in this game.

That’s why the player who has more interceptions than anybody since he came into the league, has to get one of those shiny turnovers. The Ravens don’t just need big plays from the offense, they need big plays from the defense as well.

It remains to be seen what kind of impact Peters will make on the team. It will be interesting to see how much he plays in his first week with the team. One thing is for sure, the Ravens made this trade because they need Peters to beat teams like the Seahawks. The secondary has been the biggest concern for the entire team this offseason. The addition of Peters needs to change that quickly.
