Baltimore Ravens: Earl Thomas homecoming a lost headline
Lost in the news surrounding the Baltimore Ravens move for Marcus Peters and the Lamar Jackson v. Russell Wilson matchup is Earl Thomas‘s return to Seattle.
The Baltimore Ravens have been in the news a lot this past week thanks to a trade for Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters. The team also travels to Seattle to take on a very good Seahawks team that will see their quarterback Russell Wilson get into one of the best quarterback duels this season. However, there’s one news story that’s been entirely overlooked: it’s Earl Thomas’ return to Seattle, Washington.

We knew about this all season long, and it’s no doubt been circled on Thomas’ calendar, but a busy news week has washed this bit right under the rug. How could we forget about such a big game for such an important player?
Earl Thomas hasn’t been the Pro Bowl player we expected, but he’s been far from terrible. Thomas has remained a vocal leader on defense and is perhaps the only reason that the secondary hasn’t been rated as the worst in the league.
Quarterbacks still fear throwing at ET’s direction, despite what his one interception on the young 2019 season may say. Thomas is still a force to be reconned with in the secondary, and his return to Washington state is one that he has likely been waiting a long time for.
In Earl Thomas’ interview with the media a few days back, Thomas kept most of his emotions under wraps. Thomas maintained a cool attitude throughout the interview, but we all remember that infamous finger that he gave to the Seattle Seahawks sideline in 2018 after he broke his leg…
There’s little doubt that Thomas has forgotten about any negative emotions he has for the front office and the way he left the organization he’ll always be remembered for. It will be an emotional return for good reasons as well, as Thomas will be reunited with his old teammates that he won Super Bowl XLIII with and others that he built a strong connection with.
Earl Thomas’ return to Seattle, Washington will be one full of emotions and memories for the future Hall of Fame safety. It’s unfortunate that such an amazing storyline has been washed aside due to other news breaking, among other things. Still, we’ll be watching to see how ET treats his return to the place where his NFL career began…
