The 2020 Senior Bowl is officially over following the conclusion of the game itself. Here’s what the Baltimore Ravens should’ve taken away from the game.

After tedious notes from throughout the week, the 2020 Senior Bowl has officially come to an end. With the game concluded, the next step in the 2020 NFL Draft process is the 2020 NFL Combine. This year’s Senior Bowl provided us with a lot of quality players and there was plenty to be taken away from the week. The game itself proved to be an exciting one, with the North team dominating on both sides of the ball. Hopefully, the Baltimore Ravens were taking some good notes.

There were some stellar performances during the week and the game from players that the Ravens would be wise to obtain their services. Of all the players down in Mobile, Alabama, these are the few who shined brightest throughout the week:

  • Perhaps no one helped their 2020 NFL Draft stock more than Michigan’s Josh Uche. Uche entered the week as a heavily slept on edge rusher and has emerged as perhaps a day two lock. During the game Uche was relentless. Uche was living in the South team’s backfield and hit their quarterbacks on more than one occasion. Overall, Uche dominated the game.
  • Another big winner on the defensive side of the ball was Utah’s

    Bradlee Anae

. Anae teamed up with Uche to make the South quarterbacks absolutely miserable. They met each other in the backfield a handful of times for sacks and hits. Anae and Uche both significantly improved their status this week, and the Baltimore Ravens likely took notice of them.

  • The running back group down in Mobile was stellar. Guys like Eno Benjamin and Lamichal Perine had themselves solid weeks, but the biggest winner has to be UCLA’s Joshua Kelly. Kelly was running hard all week long and showed off in the game itself, as well. The Ravens may be set in the backfield with their current running back stable, but Kelly would be a great addition if they decided to add more competition.
  • Similarly to the running backs, Baltimore has a deep secondary and likely won’t invest high draft capital into the position. If they did, however, Notre Dame cornerback Troy Pride Jr. was impressive. Pride picked off a pass during the game but also slowed up opposing wide receivers in one-on-one drills throughout the week. Pride Jr. would be a good addition to make the depth more impressive, especially if guys like Jimmy Smith and Brandon Carr don’t return in 2020.
  • Finally, the wide receivers didn’t show out today the way they had throughout practice. Before we can assign any blame to them, we have to acknowledge that the quarterback play wasn’t very good. Anthony Gordon balled out, while Justin Herbert and Jordan Love also looked good. Beyond them, the rest of the quarterbacks were miserably bad. Jalen Hurts and Shea Patterson struggled to consistently place the ball in positions for their receivers to catch it, and the latter group suffered because of it. All in all, the wide receivers were held down by bad quarterback play.
