Joe Schobert:

There isn’t a better linebacker on the Free Agency market than Joe Schobert and it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll be returning to the Cleveland Browns in 2020. That would be a major loss to their defense and the Baltimore Ravens could deepen that wound by signing Schobert to be the quarterback of their defense.

Since 2017, Schobert has had 100+ tackles and at least two sacks each year. Schobert has also tallied on an additional five interceptions in that time frame. Schobert is solid in coverage and can contribute across the board for a Ravens defense in need of a stud inside linebacker.

Baltimore was clearly missing C.J. Mosley in the middle of their defense in 2019, even if he was injured almost all of 2019 with the New York Jets. Without him, guys like Patrick Onwuasor were unable to step up and be “the guy” for the unit. The Ravens defense is at its best when it has rangy linebackers who do a little bit of everything. That’s exactly what Joe Schobert would be for this defense.

The best part about adding Schobert is that it would be pretty cost-effective for the team, as he won’t command a contract that will reset the market. Of the three players we’re going to go over, Schobert seems the most likely for the Baltimore Ravens to land.
