Picks 5-8:

Andrew Thomas is the most battle-ready left tackle in the 2020 NFL Draft and Miami needs a sure-thing at the spot to protect its new quarterback. Thomas is polished and a plug-and-play kind of tackle.

I’m not sold the Los Angeles Chargers would take Tua Tagovailoa considering how confident they are in Tyrod Taylor. Instead, they get a shutdown cornerback to fit into a secondary featuring Derwin James and Casey Hayward.

It’s not every day you get to replace a future Hall of Fame linebacker with one of the most athletic linebacker prospects ever. Carolina does that with Isaiah Simmons.

New York Jets send picks 11 and 68 to Arizona for pick 8

The New York Jets move up to ensure they get a true number one receiver for Sam Darnold with the refined and speedy Henry Ruggs III, who can be the team’s X-receiver and the focal point of the offense.
