How did the Baltimore Ravens do on the third day of the 2020 NFL Draft? Let’s take a look at the grade book.

One of the slight qualms I had with the selection of Tyre Phillips was that there were better offensive linemen available. One of those offensive linemen was Bredeson, a player who got drafted much lower than he probably should have. Bredeson was a very solid player at Michigan who is perfect for the Ravens offense. This is a great pick. The competition the Ravens are going to have for the starting right guard spot is going to be exciting.

In Eric DeCosta you should certainly trust however this pick was not one of my favorites. To be honest, I didn’t even have Washington on my board. So instead of talking about the prospect I’m going to talk about what this pick wasn’t, an edge rusher.

The Ravens already added to the defensive line with Justin Madubuike. They added two inside linebackers in Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison. At a certain point an edge rusher should have been in the cards of this draft class. I’ll dig more into the prospect, yet my initial reaction is this is overkill for the defensive line and there were other players to eye for this pick.

The only concern I have with this pick is that the Ravens have too much of the same thing at the receiver position. If I was Eric DeCosta a big bodied receiver would have been on my radar. Miles Boykin certainly has the potential to contribute more in 2020 but other than Boykin the Ravens don’t have a lot of size at wide receiver.

The pick of Proche is an awesome pick with all of that being said. Proche is a really productive receiver out of SMU. He has great hands and I liken him a little bit to Brandon Stokley. I like the pick and at this point in the draft he was about the safest pick on the board.

I am a big fan of this pick. I thought Stone should have gone off the board in the third round. Maybe the NFL knew something I didn’t, yet this is a prospect who fell way too far in my opinion. In the same way the Ravens got unbelievable value in Malik Harrison, the Ravens got away with an incredible steal here.

The Ravens finish a really strong draft with a player that will at the very least be a younger version of Anthony Levine. Stone is a hard hitting safety and he had six interceptions in his three year run at Iowa. This was one of my favorite picks of the entire draft.
