1. Justin Tucker:

When Justin Tucker misses a field goal it’s a shocker. That’s the mark of a good kicker, being absolutely shocked when the football doesn’t go through the uprights. Tucker has kicked 292 field goals in his career and he’s made 265 of them. He’s made 39 of 55 field goals over 50 yards. Honestly, if the Ravens were more selective with Tucker’s field goal attempts, the most accurate kicker in NFL history would have much more impressive numbers. A good bit of Tucker’s misses have come when John Harbaugh let Tucker go for it in situations he wouldn’t let any other kicker go out on the field for.

The 2016 season was the best season you may ever see from a kicker. Tucker made 38-39 field goal attempts. The only miss came by the way of a blocked kick against the New England Patriots. If Tucker hadn’t gotten that block kicked, he may have had a perfect season. That one was on five seasons where he made over 90 percent of his field goals. Tucker could retire today and he would forever go down as the best field goal kicker in the history of the NFL. He’s that good.

If you had to bet $100 on the player who you thought would make the fewest mistakes over the course of the season, Tucker would be the smartest bet. Nobody is perfect but Tucker does his job better than any player on the team on a regular basis. In a conversation where we rank Ravens players by their dependability, how could I have anybody else top the list?  This isn’t up for debate. Tucker is the best kicker in the league and the most consistent player in the NFL. Kickers don’t always get the respect and appreciation that they deserve. Tucker is a player who should get standing ovations once a week, every football season.
