2. Derrick Mason is the most obvious All-Time roster snub:

There is a player the Ravens fans forgot. Now, I love Anquan Boldin and Steve Smith Sr. however Mason has to be included as a top two receiver in Ravens history. I ranked Mason as the number one receiver in Ravens history. The fans have voted and the two receivers on the roster are Steve Smith Sr. and Boldin. Boldin obviously has to be there. Mason absolutely should have been there over Smith Sr. because of how much he did for this team. Nobody has more receptions or receiving yards for the Ravens than Mason did. The Ravens got three great years from Boldin and three great years from Smith Sr. however Mason had six great seasons.

What else did Mason have to do to be included? Smith Sr. is one of the most awesome players the Ravens ever had. It’s not a knock against Smith Sr., it’s just giving Mason credit for his contributions. Smith Sr. is easily the most enjoyable personality on sports television at the moment. He was a legendary receiver for both the Carolina Panthers and the Ravens.

He is surely up there. That being said Mason had 276 more receptions and 3,243 more yards as a Raven. It just feels like we’re discounting Mason, who was consistently good for the purple and black.

Mason is the only person on this list who can say they were the preferred target of Kyle Boller, Troy Smith, Steve McNair and Joe Flacco. Before Boldin got there in 2010, Mason had already caught passes from all four of these Ravens quarterbacks. Mason gave his heart and soul to this team. He’s the only obvious omission here. There are some positions you could argue a couple of names that could have made the list. The only missing player that absolutely must be included was Mason. It’s a shame there aren’t three wide receiver spots because all three names in this conversation are great.
