2. Jackson just had the best season you may ever see:

Jackson is number one on the NFL Top 100 list for the same reason he is the MVP of the 2019 season. Jackson is coming off the best regular season you may ever see. We’re talking 36 touchdown passes and just six interceptions. We’re talking 1,206 rushing yards. We’re talking about a 12 game winning streak and a 14 win season. Jackson went into the season having to prove that he was the Ravens’ true franchise quarterback. Instead he proved he’s going to be one of the best quarterbacks of a generation. Jackson stole the show in 2019. While he still has to do it in the postseason, Jackson just put up a season that he may not ever be able to top.

More from Ebony Bird

You can put up Jackson’s 2019 highlight reel against the highlight reel of any player in the NFL. Jackson is going to have more wowing plays than any player from the 2019 season. Jackson went from being a dark horse MVP candidate to being the only player who could rightfully be named MVP. In any other season, the kinds of numbers Russell Wilson put up would have gotten him the MVP award. Wilson played amazing and in the end Jackson was unanimously voted the MVP. That doesn’t happen much. In fact, Jackson is only the second unanimous MVP in NFL history. Jackson made history all season. It was Jackson’s year. He was the player of 2019.

Is four a little too low for Mahomes? Probably. I’d personally have him over Aaron Donald. It’s not like Mahomes was disrespected though. He doesn’t have to be number one on this list. It’s not a rule and being number four is still quite the honor. Why any Chiefs fan would care is beyond me. Mahomes may be the third ranked quarterback here but he’s the guy who just won a Super Bowl ring. Jackson was the best player in the league last season. He put on a show unlike anything we have seen before. That’s why he’s number one.
