The Baltimore Ravens offense needs to be at its best for MNF vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, but Marquise Brown will need to stand out the most.

When the Kansas City Chiefs come rolling into Baltimore, Maryland this weekend for Monday Night Football, all eyes will be on the offenses. There is superstar power between MVP quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes and really the offenses as a whole. It’s going to be an offensive shootout and each team will need its big-play players to go off. For the Chiefs, that’s Tyreek Hill. For the Ravens, it’s Marquise Brown.

Brown, better known as “Hollywood”, was the team’s first-round draft choice back in 2019. Brown was hampered by a screw in his foot for a due to a Lisfranc injury during his rookie season but still managed to tie a franchise rookie record seven touchdown receptions in 14 games. Since then, Brown has had the screw in his foot removed and looks like a completely different player.

“Hollywood” is off to a stellar start to his sophomore campaign, reeling in 10 passes for 143-yards through the first two games of the 2020 season. Brown is demonstrating his overall play, but he’s especially been valuable on the deep ball. This was very evident in this terrific play vs. the Cleveland Browns in week one.

Overall, Marquise Brown looks like a player reborn. Brown looks like he’s ready to become a household name and one of the NFL’s premier guys.

Baltimore is certainly hoping he can, especially this week against Kansas City.

The potential is there for Marquise Brown to have a massive game. For starters, we’ve seen his and Jackson’s chemistry really click this year, as he’s been his quarterback’s favorite target thus far. The two are in sync with one another. It also helps that this Chiefs secondary is, well, not great at all. Aside from Tyrann Mathieu at safety, Kansas City is rolling Charvarius Ward, L’Jarius Sneed, and Rashad Fenton as its top three cornerbacks. None of these guys are even close to the caliber player that Brown is. There won’t be many excuses for Brown to not have a big night.

But more than the chemistry and more than the matchup is the fact that the Ravens absolutely need a big game from Marquise Brown if it plans to win vs. the Chiefs. Baltimore needs to unlock the deep ball to open up everything underneath and make it so Kansas City doesn’t specifically key in on stopping the run. No, it needs Brown’s speed to open up the playbook and keep the Chiefs honest. “Hollywood” might be the biggest X-factor of the night, as his play holds a lot of weight here.

The Baltimore Ravens have plenty of offensive weapons to put points up on the board, but it’ll need Marquise Brown to strut his “Hollywood” play-making to be the true difference-maker in this game. We could just see the best game of Brown’s career when the lights come on Monday night.
