The Ugly:

The biggest problem of the day is that the Ravens defense seems incapable of stopping a screen pass. The Washington Football Team seemed to have it as a game plan, of just dumping off short to their wide receivers. It set up their lone touchdown on the afternoon. Another problem  Washington actually moved the football better than the score indicated. There were a few drives where Baltimore couldn’t get off the field. One drive in particular, was when the Ravens were up 28-10 in the third quarter and the Ravens let Washington run 10 plays and then gave up a fourth down conversion. Washington used short passes and miced in Antonio Gibson on the ground to march down the field like it was easy.

The Ravens gave up way too many completions. Terry McLaurin had a good day, he certainly would have been a good day to have him in a PPR fantasy football league. He had 10 grabs for 118 yards. Antonio Gibson only had four receptions yet he averaged 20.5 yards per catch. Dwayne Haskins had way too high of a completion percentage in this game. He was 32-45 passing and he went for over 300 yards. The Ravens controlled the game. They didn’t dominate the way that you figured they would. Where Haskins looked lost against the Cleveland Browns, throwing three interceptions, he looked all too competent against Don Martindale’s defense.

This is a game where concerns really needed to be alleviated. They needed to blow the doors off of the Washington Football Team. The Ravens just beat them. It was always assured, never in doubt but it wasn’t the flashy performance Baltimore was looking for. Take out a few big plays and this game would have been way too close for comfort. The Ravens won 31-17 and it could have probably been 31-24.
