3. The Ravens could trade for Zach Ertz

Switching gears to a player the Ravens could acquire, one player who remains the subject of various trade rumors is longtime Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz.

It seems unlikely that Ertz will play another down for the Eagles, and while the Ravens might not be obvious trade partners, it’s something they could explore.

The Ravens are notorious for their love of tight ends, and their current tight end room has plenty of bodies at the moment. But there is some uncertainty there as well.

Nick Boyle is still recovering from a gruesome leg injury he suffered last season, and behind him, the likes of Josh Oliver, Eric Tomlinson, Ben Mason (assuming he plays some tight end), Jacob Breeland, and Eli Wolf are hardly an inspiring bunch.

The Ravens could use a player like Ertz who, while he might be past his prime, would still be a valuable addition. As crazy as it might sound to some, the Ravens missed Hayden Hurst last season.

Ertz’s salary could make things tricky, but the Ravens do have the cap space to make things work in 2021. It would likely prevent them from signing a veteran pass rusher, however.

Pass rusher is a greater need, but if the Ravens are looking to add additional tight end depth for the price of what will likely be a Day 3 pick, Ertz makes a ton of sense.

It’s unlikely, but not out of the question.
