4 NFL Draft prospects the Ravens could target to replace Brandon Williams
By Justin Fried
1. Ravens draft target: Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia
Jordan Davis is the best nose tackle prospect in this year’s class, and it isn’t really close. In fact, he’s probably the best nose tackle prospect the NFL has seen since Vita Vea, and he has a chance to be just as good.
At 6-foot-6, 340 pounds, Davis is a mammoth of a human being who moves like a man twice his size. Although a productive player prior to 2021, Davis became a household name around the college football world as a senior.
The North Carolina native even garnered some Heisman hype at one point and was ultimately awarded the Chuck Bednarik Award given to the nation’s best defensive player.
The last five winners of that award have gone on to be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft and Davis is all but guaranteed to continue that trend.
But just how early he goes might determine whether the Ravens even have a chance at drafting him. While the top-10 might be a bit rich for most, there’s certainly an argument to make that he’s a top-10 player in this class.
Position value might push him down some boards, but Davis still should find himself taken in the top-20. That might leave Baltimore on the outside looking in.
Ultimately, Davis would be an ideal replacement for Brandon Williams and give the Ravens a true identity up front on their defensive line. But if we’re looking at this realistically, it’s certainly less likely that he ultimately ends up in purple and black than the others on this list.
Still, we can dream.
