Ravens’ QB Matchup No. 3: Josh Allen

The Ravens will play Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, and Allen’s side will likely be the toughest AFC East opponent in 2022.

This game could very well be won or lost on defense, as both Baltimore and Buffalo boast elite secondary units, though the Bills probably have the pass-rushing edge with Von Miller.

In a potentially low-scoring affair, who will break first?

Both Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen pose as unique dual-threats and have similar pass completion percentages, but Allen has no injury history and is coming off a season in which he threw for 4,407 yards and 36 touchdowns. Suffice to say, Jackson’s 2021 numbers pale in comparison.

The two 2018 first-rounders share a mutual respect for one another yet between the two, Jackson arguably has more to prove in this high-stakes matchup.

Baltimore and Buffalo most recently met in the AFC Divisional Round back in 2020 when the Bills defeated the Ravens 17-3 in a mostly forgettable game.

Jackson failed to throw a single passing touchdown, passing for 162 yards and notching one interception, and Allen was able to command his side to a dominant victory against Jackson’s lifeless offense.

That was the farthest Baltimore had ever gotten in the postseason in the Jackson era, and in this regular season Week 4 matchup, Jackson and the Ravens are hungry for revenge.
