Ravens’ addition No. 3: Brent Urban

Defensive end Brent Urban agreed to a one-year deal with the Ravens, and he provides crucial depth, though not too much upside, on the defensive line.

Urban started his career in Baltimore and has suffered a handful of injuries that caused him to miss time, but his value to the Ravens lies in sheer size. At 6-foot-7 and 308 pounds, the mammoth defensive lineman can make a huge difference in defending against the run as he enters his eighth year in the league.

Urban has bounced around from team to team, but the Ravens are lucky to nab him as a backup piece to Calais Campbell. Given Derek Wolfe’s nagging injuries, Urban could get a fair share of defensive snaps and may be relied upon as a pillar of strength in the trenches.

He has special teams value, too, so he should be able to contribute to the squad in at least a minimal way in 2022.

Grade: B+
