Most of the Baltimore Ravens roster disappointed in 2025. They were shockingly bad on defense, the offense was inconsistent, and even special teams dropped the ball in many ways.
In 2026, Baltimore is looking to right their ship. This offseason saw them make all the changes necessary to do that—the new coaching staff looks ready to get this team back to the playoffs. Still, it’s on the players to rewrite the narrative.
For these three players, the narrative has become a nightmare. They desperately need to rebound.
3 Baltimore Ravens who need a bounce-back season more than anything
Marlon Humphrey
Marlon Humphrey is in trouble. He’s coming off what is widely considered the worst season of his nine-year career, giving up the most yards in football. And having gone through several injuries and recently turning 30 years old, regression could be coming fast.
Humphrey must bounce back in 2026. He has a new, yet familiar, coaching staff to impress. More notably, he’s in a contract year.
Quite simply, this season will be Humphrey’s last chance to remind the team that drafted him why he should stick around. And for a Baltimore defense that needs top-tier corner talent, they need Humphrey back at the top of his game.
If he disappoints once more, both the Ravens and Humphrey may find themselves in hot water.
Rashod Bateman
When it comes to inconsistency, Rashod Bateman might be the king of it. He’s had moments where he looks like a lethal route runner and reliable deep threat. However, he’ll then look like a receiver that is a complete non-factor at times.
2026 isn’t exactly do-or-die for Bateman. A ton of eyes will be on him, though. He signed a three-year, $36.75 million extension last offseason, but went out and had the worst statistical campaign of his career in 2025. That can’t happen again.
Bateman is having a lot handed to him on a silver platter. It seems he’ll maintain the WR2 spot, and crucially, he lands in an offense led by Declan Doyle.
Doyle is hunting explosive plays. He also knows how to get the most out of all his guys on offense. Bateman should benefit from that.
If he can’t take advantage of that golden opportunity? Patience may start running thin in Charm City.
Tyler Loop
This one’s obvious. Tyler Loop might not even get a full season’s worth of reps before the narrative officially forces him out of a roster spot. He’s been that bad.
Loop looked decent in his rookie campaign. However, his issues from 50+ yards had no end, and on top of that, he led the league in kickoff penalties. In this year’s preseason, all eyes were on him, and he once again struggled to make kicks from distance.
As a result, the Ravens signed Jake Moody to the practice squad. Loop has competition for pretty much the first time in his NFL career. If he can’t conquer his kicking woes, he may find himself out of a job.
And if Loop somehow kicks in all 17 games in 2026, he needs to ensure it’s a season that’ll lock down the kicking gig for the foreseeable future. Because Baltimore will have no issue searching for his replacement next offseason if he doesn’t find a rhythm.
