The Baltimore Ravens earned a rousing win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. Even without Lamar Jackson, they proved they could not only win, but do so in comeback fashion. It was a really encouraging effort.

The offense looked competent, the defense stepped up in the do-or-die moments, and the special teams made things look effortless. And while guys like Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers, and Kyle Hamilton made many of the momentum-shifting plays, the unsung heroes and underperformers came up big.

These three players boosted their stock on Sunday night. Their performances definitely forced coaches and fans to respect them a little more.

3 Baltimore Ravens who boosted their stock in Week 5

Justice Hill

Justice Hill continues to be one of the biggest unsung heroes on the Ravens roster. He’s usually not much of a flashy player; however, he does the little things right. If he’s on the field, Jesse Minter and Declan Doyle can trust him to do his assignment well.

In Week 5, though, Hill was a flashy player. He saw 4 carries and made the most of them. The veteran running back finished with 73 rushing yards, including this long of 47 yards, which was a masterful call from Doyle.

And of course, Hill made plays in other ways. Despite being 5-foot-10, he packs a punch in pass protection and proved to be a strong blocker for Tyler Huntley. If there was any question about why Hill always gets 30+ snaps, he answered all those in Atlanta.

Malaki Starks

Who had the most doubters to silence in Week 5? If you asked Ravens fans that question entering the matchup, a resounding majority probably would’ve picked Malaki Starks. He’s been awful to start the year.

Luckily, Starks finally showed up. He played his best game of the season on Sunday.

The second-year pro led Baltimore’s defense in total tackles with 12, including 2 tackles for loss, per ESPN. He also earned a 71.8 overall grade, per Pro Football Focus.

Starks’ tackling problems remained a common theme — he missed multiple tackles in this one. Still, he played a pivotal role in limiting Bijan Robinson, cramming running lanes and holding contain to let his teammates rally in for the tackle.

For a player with as much hype as Starks was coming out of the 2025 NFL Draft, this is an incredibly positive sign. He might be hitting his stride.

Josh Cuevas

The 19 snaps Josh Cuevas played in Week 5 were the most he’s seen in a single game up to this point. With Durham Smythe going on season-ending IR with an Achilles tear, and fellow rookie Matt Hibner missing time throughout Sunday’s matchup with a hand injury, Cuevas got slightly more attention than usual.

And the Alabama product was relatively productive in those opportunities.

2 receptions for 26 yards isn’t anything crazy, but it was a career night. One catch went for 17 yards, and the other for 9. Both moved the Ravens into Falcons territory and set up eventual field goals, too.

This could be a statement to the coaching staff. If he puts together more outings like that, Cuevas may find himself earning more snaps in the coming weeks.
