With the odds stacked against them, the Baltimore Ravens and Tyler Huntley pulled off the late-game comeback they needed. Down 8 points with over 2 minutes to go, Baltimore finally cracked the code in the fourth quarter, tying the game and eventually winning it in overtime.

Based on the team’s recent history, this seemed impossible. But the stats made it look even more impossible. According to CBS Sports’ Doug Clawson, teams had lost 581 straight games when down by 8 or more points in the final minute.

The last time this happened? A 2022 matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders. And the Ravens did it with their backup quarterback.

Don’t doubt Huntley, though. He’s more than a backup quarterback. He’s delivered in clutch moments before, and he showed out when needed most in Week 5.

Time and time again, Huntley proves his worth.

Baltimore Ravens QB Tyler Huntley continues to come up clutch

Last year, Tyler Huntley was a cult hero in Charm City. His Week 8 win over the Chicago Bears seemed to shift the season’s momentum, and his Week 17 win over the Green Bay Packers kept the Ravens’ playoff hopes alive until the last day.

On Sunday, he showed fourth-quarter comebacks are possible in Baltimore.

Huntley just keeps giving coaches, teammates, and fans reason to have faith in him. And pretty much everyone you asked postgame said that.

“Snoop [Huntley] is one of the coolest dudes; he doesn’t really get rattled,” Jesse Minter said. “There’s not a locker room in the NFL that has more confidence in their backup quarterback than our guys have in Snoop.”

“Snoop balled out. Told y’all,” Derrick Henry said. “I’m with him every day, I see him at practice, I see how he works. It ain’t different for us. We know Snoop is gonna go out there and do his thing.”

Even when the going gets tough, Huntley has shown the pressure doesn’t affect him. If anything, he gets better.

Things certainly got tough against the Atlanta Falcons, and his response in the face of that was more telling than any play he made. He’s a cold-blooded competitor.

Leading both a game-tying and game-winning drive gives the Ravens exactly what they need: a backup quarterback who can pilot an effective offense and step up in the spotlight.

Huntley’s play in the final three frames was perfect. He found paydirt three times, had Atlanta reeling, and most importantly, didn’t commit any turnovers. When someone is playing like that, it’s easy to believe in him.

Sure, Huntley’s arm is underwhelming — he doesn’t make too many splash plays with it. But if you’re upset about that, you’re probably a fan that’s spoiled by Lamar Jackson. And that’s understandable. But Huntley’s that guy.

Huntley is smart, accurate, and a threat on the ground. He also does enough to put teammates like Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers, and Rashod Bateman in position to make plays. He did that on Sunday, and it all culminated in a huge win.
